About Me
I qualified from a 4-year course at the North West College of Homeopathy, Manchester in 1993. After one year’s post-graduate study at the college, I registered with the Society of Homeopaths in 1994. The Society is the largest and longest-established homeopathic register in the UK. I am committed to constantly updating my skills and knowledge through many hours of Continuing Professional Development every year, and have regular peer supervision and other forms of self-development. I am a member of the North West College Examining Board. I lecture, supervise and tutor students and other practising homeopaths. I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Homeopaths.

I am committed to homeopathy as a whole and particularly to constantly developing the service I offer to patients. For this reason, I am always happy to receive your feedback.

About Homeopathic Treatment
Homeopathy is suitable for all groups of people from the newborn to the elderly, pregnant women, and others who may be sensitive to the side effects of some drug treatments. It can be used where a conventional solution may be more radical.

A homeopath takes into account characteristics of the whole person to arrive at an individualised prescription. This means it can even be used where people have a collection of apparently unrelated symptoms, or come simply because they 'don't feel well'. Specific symptoms may also be better managed. I have had a great deal of experience of seeing patients presenting with, among other things, skin and chest problems; hormonal problems of all kinds; digestive and joint disorders; and emotional states like grief, panic attacks, anxiety and depression. The remedies are administered in tablet or liquid form, easy and pleasant to take.

Acute Illnesses
Acute problems like flu or childhood illnesses can respond rapidly to homeopathy. I can normally deal with these in a one-off clinic or phone appointment. But ‘acute’ problems that recur frequently or regularly, like PMS, tonsillitis or hay fever, are actually chronic conditions. These can be managed much more effectively over a period of time.
What is ‘a period of time'?

Homeopathy ideal aim is to stimulate the patient’s own resources so that people become symptom-free, while at some point no longer having to take anything. If you have had your symptoms for a long time however, you may need a series of appointments to get to this stage. The ‘contract’ I operate is designed to meet your natural desire for a speedy end to treatment at the least possible cost, while still respecting the time and space I need to get the results you want.

The first appointment for chronic conditions takes about an hour and I prescribe a remedy at the end of it. You should then experience improvement between that appointment and the first follow-up. Changes may be made at this follow-up, depending on how you have responded to the first remedy. Entering the contract commits you to at least this first follow-up. After that, further follow-up appointments are decided by mutual agreement as we go along. Follow-up appointments last about half an hour.

Cost of Consultations

Adults initial appointments £60 (£65 Manchester)
Children’s initial appointments £50
Follow-up appointments £40
Telephone calls for acute or first aid treatment £15

The charges include any remedies prescribed, support and advice between appointments, extra discussion by phone or e-mail and time and materials involved in posting remedies out. Follow-ups start at monthly intervals after the first one, but with bigger intervals as soon as your consistent improvement allows.

Many private health insurers now cover some or all of the cost of homeopathy. Please ask me for an invoice if you are able to reclaim all or part of your homeopathy costs.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

If women wish to benefit from homeopathiy for the common conditions of pregnancy or to help with labour and delivery, I offer one-off half hour appointments for £35. This includes the provision of a ‘Labour Kit’ of useful remedies tailored to their particular needs, with guidance for their use.

What to do next

The receptionists at my clinics can answer many of the questions new enquirers may have and are more available to answer calls in person than I might be. Reception contact is normally 9-5 weekdays on one of the above numbers. If you would particularly like to speak to me before deciding whether to come for treatment, then please leave a message with clinic receptionists or e-mail me. All appointments should be booked through the receptionist at the most convenient clinic to where you live or work:
